Year 7 Admissions Consultation - Sept 2027 Intake

As the admission authority, the Academy is required under the School Admissions Code to review its admission arrangements annually. Where changes are proposed, we must carry out a public consultation.

This consultation relates to the Year 7 intake for September 2027.

Proposed changes to our Admission Arrangements

We are proposing the following changes to our admission criteria:

Addition to our oversubscription admission criteria (number 5):

  5.3 Oversubscription admission criteria 

When there are more applications for places than there are places available, priority will be given in the following order:

1. Looked after and all previously looked after children (see definition in section 6). 

2. Children who live in the designated area - Finedon, Great Addington, Irthlingborough, Little Addington, Woodford and who will have an older -sibling (see definition) continuing at the Academy in September 2027. 

3. Pupils who live within the designated area. 

4. Pupils who live outside the designated area and who will have an older sibling (see definition) continuing at the Academy in September 2026. 

5. Children of members of staff employed by the school, provided they have been employed for a minimum of two years and/or are recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skills shortage

6. Pupils who live outside the designated area.
