Head's Welcome

A Warm Welcome to Huxlow

Welcome to Huxlow Science College

At Huxlow Science College we believe that school days are precious and form the foundations for our students’ future lives. We have a determination to ensure that our students are given the best possible opportunities to succeed both academically and as young people who are an asset to the communities in which they live. Our community is rightly very proud of our school, our students and their successes. We have a rich history of students of all abilities and backgrounds fulfilling their potential in all areas of their education and they are supported and challenged daily to gain the skills, confidence and qualifications they will need to be successful in an ever-changing world.

We pride ourselves on the levels of support and guidance we offer our students and place students and their needs at the heart of everything we do. We work hard to ensure students are happy, feel safe and are taught well. Developing ‘The Whole Child’ is one of our core responsibilities and our students are challenged to aim for the highest personal and academic standards. We have high expectations of behaviour and respect across our community and forge excellent relationships with both students and parents.

I am hugely proud to be the Headteacher of Huxlow Science College and to lead the school as we build on recent increases in both student numbers and exam results. It is such a privilege to be entrusted with the lives of the young people in our community, to shape their characters and enable their success.

We look forward to welcoming all prospective students, parents and carers to experience all that is Huxlow in the very near future.

Parent Communication

GO 4 Schools

Using GO 4 Schools, you will be able to access information regarding your child’s attainment, homework, attendance, timetable, progress and behaviour at any time. Your child’s page is constantly updated, providing you with the latest information.

To access the site, please go to www.go4schools.com and click on the Parents icon at the top of the main page to arrive at the log-in screen. The email address you use to enter the site must be the one detailed below, as this is the email address we have as your priority 1 contact in our database. If this is incorrect please update this by emailing a.webster@huxlow.northants.sch.uk

To request a password for Go4Schools, please enter your email address into the First-time User field and click ‘Please send me a password’. A randomised password will then be generated and sent to your email address. You will then be able to log into the site and view your child’s page.

You can also download the Go 4 Schools Mobile App and log in using the same details as the website. The app can send summary notifications/emails, on homework set, to your smartphone/android, as well as your email address so that you are kept fully informed. You can change your preferences in the app settings.

The video below takes you step by step through the process.

my ed mobile app

MyEd is used as the main form of communication with parents/carers and will replace paper copies of letters etc… You may receive letters or short messages via this app and can even reply where appropriate.

To access the MyEd Parent App, you must download the app onto the mobile phone which matches the priority 1 contact we have on file, which is the number detailed below. If this number is incorrect please email a.webster@huxlow.northants.sch.uk:

Once you are set up, you will receive all communications from the school in this secure area (i.e. brief urgent messages that were previously text and printed letters that were previously sent home with your child.) It is important that notifications from this app are allowed so that updates come through to you immediately.

Absences may also be reported through the app.
