Children in Need 2017
On Friday 17 November 2017, Huxlow Science College invited all students to take part in a mufti day and various activities to raise money for BBC Children In Need. There was a cake sale and a variety of stalls in the Hall at break. Meanwhile, students were lining up outside to take their turn at “Sponge The Teachers”. At lunch, staff netball drew a huge crowd. The total raised from all the activities throughout the day was an incredible £1013.03.
BBC Children in Need works throughout the year to ensure that every child in the UK has a safe, happy and secure childhood, and the chance to reach their full potential.
Every single penny raised by BBC Children in Need goes directly to UK projects working with children and young people who may be affected by neglect, abuse or poverty, or those who have faced challenges in their lives such as serious illness, disabilities and psychological disorders. Locally, Children in Need supports Service Six and the Victoria Centre in Wellingborough and Groundwork in Kettering. Find out more about where the money goes at www.bbcchildreninneed.co.uk
A huge thank you to the whole Huxlow community for your continued support in helping our students to become active citizens.
