Anti Bullying Week 11th-15th November
Anti Bullying Week 2019 took place between the 11th and 15th November. It is used as an opportunity to reinforce the messages about how bullying is not acceptable at all and encourage students to "Choose Kindness" and stand up to bullying.
Huxlow staff and students took part in Odd Socks Day on Tuesday 12th November. The day is designed to be fun and an opportunity for people to express themselves and celebrate their individuality!
As part of the day, United Vibe (X Factor finalists) visited the school, to perform their latest single which is about Anti Bullying and answer questions. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the event and the band used the opportunity to talk to students about their school experiences, and ambitions. They encouraged the students to aim to be the best that they can and to look out for each other.
A member of staff said " I can quite honestly say they were amazing, both vocally and with their down to earth attitude. Humble and very polite. They had loads of time for the students to get autographs...great role models.
One Year 7 student said "Today was the best day at school eve, I'm so glad I came to Huxlow."
